Coming to PC and Consoles!

You, your bike, and an island full of spirits and mystery

A year after her sister passed away, Fiona finds a letter left for her describing the hidden spirit world on Tidewind, a windswept island in the North Sea. Excited, she sets out to retrace her sister's steps, spirit hamster Tofu by her side.

Tidewind is a small open-world action adventure. Explore the island on foot and by bike, connect with the islanders, and discover the spirit world Fiona's sister wrote of. Storms have blocked paths, and the ancient spirit gates toppled long ago, so it falls to you to find new routes and work with islanders and cat spirits alike to restore balance. That's Fiona's chance to keep her sister's promise: that on Tidewind, the two of them will meet one last time.

A First Look at Tidewind

What you'll be doing

Explore the island

On foot and by bike, along coast roads and field paths. Read the road signs and hiking markers, follow the Tidewind hiking club’s recommendations, or go completely off-road. Where you cannot bike, you walk or climb.

Discover the gates to the ancient spirit world

The island’s gates toppled long ago, but look closely, and you will see signs of the spirits everywhere. Restore a gate stone, ring your bike bell, and a path into the spirit world opens for you.

Solve puzzles and uncover secrets

Tidewind keeps its clues in plain sight, and its people remember things that do not always add up, until you come along. Every puzzle you piece together opens up new places, tasks, and characters.

Connect with islanders and spirits

Fulfil tasks, deliver windswept mail, and get to know the islanders and the spirits who share the island with them. Some will help you right away, others need a little nudge. Tofu is always by your side.

Three things about Tidewind

No UI quest markers, just adventure

Winding coastal roads and field paths connect little towns, holiday homes, historic sites, and enchanted places hidden in the wind-carved dunes, wild heath, and rugged hills. No UI quest markers: find your way by map, street signs, hiking markers, and landmarks.

By bike or on foot? Which path will you take?

One island, two worlds

Storms toppled the island’s ancient spirit gates long ago. Restore the gate stones, ring your bike bell, and step through... into a spirit world where familiar places stand changed, full of puzzles, mysteries, and cat spirits who are eager to meet you.

“As night and day, as wind and tide, here and there dwell side by side.” An old folk song from Tidewind.

Never alone

Tofu, your spirit hamster, is always by your side. He can summon your bike from afar and hand out (mostly) helpful advice. The islanders, on the other hand, have plenty of favours to ask, stories to tell, and windswept mail to deliver. And with the Festival of Souls approaching and the island’s best days seemingly behind it, some of them could use a little of Fiona’s optimism.

Who will you meet next?

Keep me posted!

Tidewind is still in development, and the newsletter is where we share how it is going. We send one email a month, sometimes fewer. You will see new footage before anyone else, get invited to playtests, and hear the release date the moment we know it. No spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Questions people ask

Tidewind is still in development, so we cannot promise a date yet. The newsletter is where we will announce it first.

We are planning for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and macOS. Subscribe, and you will hear when a platform is confirmed.

We think so too. Tidewind is made to be played curled up on the couch, and we want to bring it to all your favourite consoles, Nintendo Switch 2 very much included. Sign up for the newsletter and you will hear the moment a platform is confirmed.

Yes. Tidewind is not a string of linear levels and cutscenes but a whole, lively island to roam, with its own paths, places, and people going about their day. Where you cannot bike, you walk or climb.

Long enough for a complete story, short enough to finish over a few evenings, even when your days are busy. We respect your time: no tedious loops and nothing that stretches the game out, just a relaxing atmosphere and exploration at your own pace. A bit like a holiday.

People who enjoy a deep story and a world to get lost in. That includes players who play a lot, people who have not touched a game in years, and anyone who is curious about games but does not know what to play. No experience needed. Tidewind is family-friendly, and it is a lovely game to play together on the couch, one person on the controller and everyone else spotting the way.

Because everything is hand-crafted by real artists. No AI was used to generate the graphics, the writing, or the sound. We are a small team with many years of experience in making games, and Tidewind is our passion project. We value the players, and we value the art. Under the hood, it runs on Unreal Engine 5, so it brings you everything you would expect from a modern open-world game.

We do not know yet, but less than an evening out with friends.

Not publicly yet. We run playtests while we develop, and we invite testers from the newsletter list, so leave your email above if you would like to be one of them.

Very soon. The Steam page is in the works, and the newsletter is where we will announce it the moment it goes live. Sign up above and you will be among the first to wishlist Tidewind.

Not yet. We are still setting it up, and newsletter subscribers will be the first to get the invitation once it opens. Until then, the newsletter and our social channels are the best places to follow along.

See you soon, on Tidewind!
